The YMCA members' New Year family gathering, which saw participation from senior members to toddlers, turned the YMCA grounds into a generational meeting place. The members and their families presented various cultural programs, including songs, instrumental music, dance, and traditional arts, during the delightful evening.
Dr. Jancy James, former Vice Chancellor of Central and MG Universities, was the chief guest at the family gathering. James Joseph, General Programs Convener of YMCA, Adv. Idicula Zacharia, President, and senior member John Daniel spoke at the event.
Based on the life story of St. Devasahayam Pillai, the first lay saint proclaimed by the Catholic Church, the cultural organization Rose Buds presented a new and refreshing rendition of " Udayagiriyile rudhira sooryan".
The traditional art form Villadichan Pattu (Vill Pattu) entertained the audience. Leading the Vill Pattu were YMCA senior member Ambrose P. Kunnil as the ‘Villashan’ and Jose Mathew as the narrator, with Fr. Anu Jose, son of Mr. Ambrose P. Kunnil, on the tabla, mesmerizing the audience.
