YMCA Trivandrum commemorated Gandhi Samadhi with a Memorial Evening with 77 Clay Lamps. In remembrance of the 77th year of Mahatma Gandhi's martyrdom, Thiruvananthapuram YMCA lit 77 clay lamps and paid tribute to Gandhi.

The Gandhi Smriti Sayahnam, organized jointly by Thiruvananthapuram YMCA and Swaranjali, was inaugurated by prominent Gandhian and Chairman of Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Dr. N. Radhakrishnan, who delivered the Gandhi memorial speech.

Dr. N. Radhakrishnan noted that discussions about Gandhi's contemporary relevance in 168 countries during the 77th martyrdom year of Mahatma Gandhi are a testament to the values Gandhi upheld.

Adv. Idicula Zakaria, President of YMCA, presided over the event. Dr. Kayamkulam Yunus, former member of the Central Sahitya Akademi's advisory committee, Dr. Jacob Pulickan, Director of Swadeshi, and Adv. V.S. Harindranath, former PSC member, delivered Gandhi memorial speeches.

Prominent Carnatic musician Sri. Parvathipuram Padmanabha Iyer, Dr. Mary Ummen, Chairperson of the Manna Charitable Trust, and Fr. Saji Mekkat, Director of MGOCSM IAS, were the distinguished guests.

Bency V. Thomas, Vice President and Chairman of the Students Programs, Dr. Paul Samuel, Chairman of Public Relations, and Sreekumaran Thampi, Secretary of Swaranjali, spoke at the event.

The 760th Interfaith Music Concert, presented by renowned interfaith musician Dr. Vazhappattu Chandrababu, lent a divine experience to the memorial evening.

The memorial gathering venue, organized under the leadership of YMCA Secretary Bitty Varghese, received widespread acclaim.
